Stories

The community remembers.

Contributors, collaborators, and audiences share what Emanuel Rund's work meant to them. Add your own reflection to the living chronicle.

The Long Take on the Pier

I worked as a second assistant on the 1994 shoot. Emanuel spent eleven hours waiting for the fog to lift, and when it did, he shot the whole sequence in a single take. He said patience was the only special effect he trusted. I have never forgotten that.

— M. Castellano

A Tribute to a Quiet Teacher

He never raised his voice, yet every person on set moved with intention. His legacy is not only in the films but in the hundreds of collaborators he taught to see.

— L. Okafor
